I am sending out a “request for prayer”.
September is the month of Our Lady of Sorrows, I am not sure if you are familiar with Our Lady of Sorrows. Honestly, in the past, I was not. It hasn’t been until recently that I have come to know and become familiar with the many facets of Our Blessed Mother. As the name implies, we honor Our Blessed Mother for the pains she had endured throughout her role as Mother of Our Savior and Our Mother (small excerpt at the end).
Since I (we, hopefully) are preparing for the upcoming walk in honor of Loss Awareness month, scheduled for Oct. 26, I thought it would be wonderful if we could all come together in prayer and do sort of a drive by prayer. What I have in mind is for individuals at their convenience to stop by their local Planned Parenthood, you don’t need to get out, or go in, or talk to anyone, just simply sit in your car…say a prayer (Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be) or any you feel comfortable. Pray for all those women, who are hurting, lost, scared, lonely, and facing a decision that they will impact their lives forever. Pray for the little babies growing each day in the belly of those women, innocent and pure, just waiting to come out and love on their moms. To be the light in a time of darkness. Pray that if a women doesn’t feel like she can be a good mother, that she would willing give the life of her child to someone who can’t have their own.
How wonderful if your prayers could save the life of a child, if you could give hope to a women in despair. If you can, simply by praying, change lives..give life.
I plan on posting a few prayers if you wish to have them with you. You might just happen to come across an office in your drive and you have a few minutes to spare…. 30 days has September… if you could give 10….
And Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary his mother: Behold this child is set for the fall, and for the resurrection of many in Israel, and for a sign which shall be contradicted; And thy own soul a sword shall pierce, that, out of many hearts, thoughts may be revealed.
Luke 2: 34-35 www.drbo.org
For the fall: Christ came for the salvation of all men; but here Simeon prophesies what would come to pass, that many through their own wilful blindness and obstinacy would not believe in Christ, nor receive his doctrine, which therefore would be ruin to them: but to others a resurrection, by their believing in him, and obeying his commandments.
