Life Instruction–Titus 2

I came across this passage today and my thoughts went to a previous post, in which I mentioned the fact that we as human beings have a great difficult time in listening to those who have already lived through the experiences we are now facing.  As I put it before, “Our children do it to us and we did it our parent…not listening”.  But our desire for complete independence has gotten us where we are now, society no longer has the values that were set out for us in the bible

Here in this verse, we are being told quite simply:

How he is to instruct both old and young. The duty of servants. The Christian’s rule of life.”

How much simpler could it be. Do you think if we were to live as instructed in the bible are lives would be very blessed?  I am sure that our lives would not be without strife, however even in strife we would find peace.  As I say this, my life has been going through some bumps–not too terrible, although to some it could be overwhelming yet I have peace and faith that it will be alright.

The bible, a book 2000+ years old, which has all the answers for any question. Granted, many times the answer in the bible is not the one we want and many times it is the harder of any choice, yet it is the correct choice.  I know from personal experience that when I don’t do what is in my heart I very much regret the outcome.

Yet, sometimes God is great and even though I didn’t listen, He will make things work out. Usually after I realize my mistake and ask for forgiveness but He is always there no matter how stupid I am.

How he is to instruct both old and young. The duty of servants. The Christian’s rule of life. But speak thou the things that become sound doctrine:  That the aged men be sober, chaste, prudent, sound in faith, in love, in patience.  The aged women, in like manner, in holy attire, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teaching well: That they may teach the young women to be wise, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, sober, having a care of the house, gentle, obedient to their husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.Young men, in like manner, exhort that they be sober. In all things shew thyself an example of good works, in doctrine, in integrity, in gravity, The sound word that can not be blamed: that he, who is on the contrary part, may be afraid, having no evil to say of us. Exhort servants to be obedient to their masters, in all things pleasing, not gainsaying:  Not defrauding, but in all things shewing good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things:

For the grace of God our Saviour hath appeared to all men;  Instructing us, that, denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly, and justly, and godly in this world, Looking for the blessed hope and coming of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ, Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and might cleanse to himself a people acceptable, a pursuer of good works. These things speak, and exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
