And Mary abode with her about three months; and she returned to her own house. Now Elizabeth’ s full time of being delivered was come, and she brought forth a son.

But while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared to him in his sleep, saying: Joseph, son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her, is of the Holy Ghost.
Saint Matthew 1: 20 www.drbo.org
Mary has now been home for about two months, faced her parents, Joseph has seen the light and now Mary and Joseph are preparing for a life together.
Mary’s pregnancy is at about 18 weeks, baby Jesus is now about 7 ounces & about 6 inches long. Mary now has an idea when He is sleeping and when He is awake. Baby Jesus’ lungs are now forming the alveoli in the lungs, the vocal chords are developed.
So much has happened in the first 5 month of baby Jesus little life and His mother has had to mature very fast. Any of her dreams have not been put on hold to attend to the most precious infant. She knows her role is an important one, she is well aware that she is carrying the Hope for her people and yet she can’t tell anyone. Here we have a 13 (ish) girl with the weight of the world on her “belly”, what kind of thoughts might be going through her mind. Whatever, Our Blessed Mother’s worries were at that time I can imagine they were never enough to take away the beauty of her glow and the warmth in her heart knowing that soon she would be looking into the eyes of God.
Each child that is born is like looking into the eyes of God. Each child arrives here from heaven and each one has been in God’s arms before they arrive at their earthly home. Make no mistake when your child arrives, you will not miss that feeling of the Lord touching you, you will feel it the minute you look into your child’s eyes. Please, Heavenly Father, help all the soon to be mothers to experience Your touch as they look into Your angel’s eyes. That they never forget the warmth of Your love.
