“All these blessings will come upon you and overwhelm you when you obey the voice of the Lord, your God:”  Deuteronomy 28: 2

“Overwhelmed, when you obey the voice of the Lord, your God” , no wonder people are not looking to God.  Overwhelmed, I don’t need to listen to the voice of Our Lord to be overwhelmed. Who, out there isn’t already overwhelmed.  Did you know that according to the ADAA (Anxiety and depression association of America), anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness, about 4o million adults, in the U.S.?

Anyone want to bet that a good percentage of those 40 million, are not church going, faith filled, spirituality seeking individuals. My bet is that for the most part they are two-income earners, some have families, some are living together, many are miserable even when they are succeeding, many on the brink of divorce, alcoholism, or drug-additction.  Everyone trying to fill a void that will never be filled alone.  Call me crazy, but personally I would rather be overwhelmed with God than on my own.

I can attest, that following God is not an easy task. But and feel free to correct me (I did mention I am a cradle Catholic), I am sure that no where in the bible did God promise us an easy way out.  He came to show us that all things could be accomplished with His help and to save us from damnation but not to make our lives easy.  If you fear being overwhelmed, I suggest that you begin by attending Sunday church service and pray each day for His guidance.

By the way, now is a good time to take a look at what God will overwhelm you with…Blessings.  “All these blessings will come upon YOU”.  Live your life for Our Lord.
