“World Yourh Days in Krakow in 2016 are going to be held with a theme: “Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy” Mt5:7.
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Mt 5:3) and “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God” (Mt5:8) are themes for preceding Youth Days, which are going to b organised locally.
In Rio de Janeiro, Pope Francis said: “Look, read the Beatitudes: that will do you good!” He asked the young people to read the Beatitudes again and to make them the action plan for their lives.”
World Youth Day—–Let’s GO!!!!
Here is a tall order, to say the least. I have been struggling with putting this particular vision together. The vision is a bit more intense than I feel I can handle (ok so that’s not anything new) and so I have been dragging my feet. I have been struggling to be sure this is the event God is asking me to put together not a personal desire. So here are the things I have been asking myself to clarify, wether or not it is God lead or personal. The biggest indication is this…if I just take my family it would be a whole lot less stressful, expense, and basically easier. Aren’t these what we look for when planning our life?
Let me explain the vision a bit more… I feel called to “open” the opportunity to all Catholic Parishes, especially those in AZ (& this is more me than God, since I figure how am I going to get others to participate long distance…yet if God wants New York to participate, HE will find a way). The vision is to have enough participants to fill a plane (at least), be able to be in Poland for two weeks, and not only remain in Poland but travel to other areas which will bring us together spiritually.
I am sure many other communities are planning to make this trip, however I feel that if we can connect into one group, the youth would grow in faith and spirituality together…resulting in an amazing community of future world leaders.
The end result of course being the trip to Poland but before the end we must have a beginning. I feel called to bring together the youth throughout the next two years in different opportunities. Developing ways for the youth to get to know each other before the trip and hopefully develop spiritual connections with each other as well the chaperones, who of course would be youth leaders. There are some ideas in the works but nothing set in stone. There are some ideas for fundraising, which brings me to another thought…sometimes discounts are better attained through quantity…so the more the merrier.
I know this may sound crazy but I truly believe God will provide for this trip, as long as we trust in HIM and do what is good in HIS eyes.
